Good morning, loves!
It’s the beginning of a new week. So, I thought to share with you guys these progressive guide to live by. I learned some of these valuable lessons recently. Others; well, let’s just say I learned earlier on in life. I hope it helps you in one way or another. Either as motivation or as a tip for when you feel stuck. Xx 💕
Let’s get to it shall we.
THE PAUSE: You see… just as punctuation marks are necessary to structure and organize ones writing (I am work in progress. Lol!) or breathe (pause) in between speeches helps one to be understood. It’s equally essential to sometimes take the pause in our (daily, personal, business etc) life. The needs for commas, question marks or full stops in writing not only drives home the message or content of the write up, but enable the reader to not misinterpret or get lost in nothingness. It’s shows when to halt at the point of cloudiness, when to take a step back to refocus, get a good view and attain clarity. Start seeing the pause as a vital tool that enables you prepare for what’s next instead of a waste of time.
SET GOALS: Even if it means breaking your goals into as little as three to five per period of time. Do so! Writing for example three main things that are your goals makes it easier to visualize and accomplish. Why? Because, there’s a laid down goal and plan you’re working towards. I’m currently trying to build myself a ‘vision board’ to this effect. I know I’ll be happy to share the outcome with you guys. Do share with us how setting goals has helped you accomplish them.
THERE IS PROGRESS IN EVERY STEP: An amazing lady and friend pointed this out to me recently. I can’t fully explain how much lighter and better I felt after that conversation. Because, in life, it is completely human to feel anxious. And you do not HAVE to know your next step but you have to take a step (be it the pause). It might be the wrong one but there is progress in every step. Even one that forces you to backtrack and start again.
ENJOY THE PROCESS: Reaching our goals and living our dreams should come with a sense of fulfillment, right? Well, I can only imagine how miserable it would feel like to arrive that destination alone and empty. While too focused on what’s next or the Big Bang . We forget to be present in the little that constitute the most beautiful moment that make up the Big Bang. I’ve known some successful people who are unhappy or live in regret of something they failed to enjoy because they were so caught up in getting to the finish line that nothing else mattered. So, although they’ve gotten what the wanted there’s that emptiness and void that they seek to fill. Don’t make rushed decisions! Taking a minute to think before acting is a smart move. Try to enjoy the moment and check that your happiness and peace of mind is intact as you go. You just might be proud of the memories made and collected, someday.
TALK ABOUT IT /DONT GIVE UP: Create an outlet for yourself to talk. It could be talking to God in prayer, writing it all in journals or speaking aloud and letting the universe soak it all in or to a friend or tribe of friends (if you’re lucky enough to have this). Either way, let it out. Find a way to talk about what/how you’re feeling. Letting it all out is healthy for mental and emotional health. Pay it forward when you can by being there or giving listening ears to someone who needs to talk too. Nothing is promised! But as long as there’s life and hope. Do not give up! It’s easy to feel like Like is falling apart but as long as we keep doing our best, everything will fall in to place.
Thank you Katrina, Nkem and Adjei. You ladies are amazing and I’m happy to have you all in my life. 💕
