Happy humpsday to you all!
How’s the week been to you guys so far? I trust you all are in good shape. 🌸
Well… let’s talk about beauty today shall we?
Skincare is something very vital and necessary for everyone. That being said. I wish I began paying attention to mine by developing a good skincare regimen when I was younger.
You know what they say… “Better late than never.”
Anyways, if you recall I mentioned here. That I’ve got a sensitive and oily skin. Although it’s pretty for one who’s got the aforementioned skin type, since I’ve never experienced acne or crazy breakouts. The most zits I ever got before this terrible acne reaction I’m writing about is the occasional monthly zits or rash as a result of my sensitive skin using something it had no business trying out at all.
So. You may understand why I earlier said it’s pretty. Not my Mom type pretty (As I’ve never seen a spot, pimple or rash on her face since I was born. Maybe because she’s ‘dark’ as a berry).
I noticed this acne reaction on my face in February 2017. Now, usually any reaction would owe to me using something or changing my cosmetic or something along that line. But, No! The first photo you see is 2 weeks post treatment. You can imagine how bad it was before then. Remember I lost my photo file? This is the only photo I could get.
It wasn’t a change of cosmetics, soap, water or diet even. Now you can only imagine my reaction towards this whole thing. Panic! 😫
Mirror became my best friend and worse enemy. I would look at it several times a day to see if things were changing. Again before I went to bed and first thing in the morning to see if a miracle happened overnight. 😂 Boy!
*Advice to myself and any other person going through this. Put down the mirror*
You are more than just a clear skin. Though it’s a bonus! 😜
After trying my hands at some cleansers, toner and the rest which only aggravated it and added to my frustration. Particularly, the Netrogena pink acne wash which I purchased for over #4000.
I decided to go more natural with my approach. I have a lot of natural oils which I use for my body and hair on daily bases. I recalled seeing somewhere how good Tea tree oil fights pimples.
You guessed right. I went to my shelve of natural oils and took out ‘Almond oil’ and ‘Tea tree oil’. Another thing I felt was essential is a good but gentle daily face wash. This one was just perfect. Lastly if you’ve not being hearing rave reviews online about micellar water. I don’t know what part of the planet you are. But now you know you’re welcome!
And yea, Lemon and egg mask. Guysssss! 🙌🏾
Below is how I administered the treatment.
- Wash my face with this facial wash morning and night.
- Cleanse my skin with the Derma V10 Micellar water afterwards ( I usually wipe my face with cotton wool not towel).
- Dilute 2 drops of tea tree oil with 2 teaspoons of water. Soak it with cotton wool and wipe my face morning and night.
- Apply Almond oil on my face after cleaning with diluted tea tree I noticed this made my skin supply and helped lighten the acne scars a little.
- Apply lemon and white egg mask which does wonders for the face I tell you. It draws out the oil mess from my face and reduces the
- appearance of black head.
I’d make sure to do a post on this mask. If you follow me on Instagram, I’m sure you’d have seen me silli-ing around for it to dry off. If you don’t follow me on Instagram… well, you’re missing out on the fun.
There you have it. This is what my skin looks like now. Nope, there’s no photoshop or filter to it and I took it in natural light to so you guys could see exactly what it is.🍃
I’m no where close to what I want my skin to be like as I’ve got the acne scars and pores to work on. Please, feel free to recommend your holy grail products to me. 💕
